A hair salon in Northeast Minneapolis founded by stylist Katie Steller, designed from the start to serve as a community gathering space as much as a place to get your hair done.

Katie’s last name was always going to be on the door. The question was what to do with it. A name that sounds like “stellar” either earns that reading or it doesn’t — and earning it meant building a brand with enough range to back it up.

The identity needed to work for a salon and for something bigger: concerts, art shows, community events. The rough-textured stamp and the clean wordmark give the system that range — one register for the neighborhood, one for the chair.

Whether it’s the cut, the concert, or the fundraiser, it’s all Steller.
